Buying the Yamaha Virago XV 250 '93

I bought my bike in Limburg ( 2 hour drive ) together with my mate Joachim. It was very exciting and I already took pictures of the bike.

The Idea

I'm a student Industrial Design in UGent campus Kortrijk. I have exams now and would like to start a project. After a couple of hours looking on the internet I discovered "the bobber". I was from young age obsessed by cars and not that much about motorcycles. But because a car was way to difficult I started searching motorcycles and I was in love with the bobber.

I have totally zero experience with motorcycle technics or something familiar. It didn't look that difficult to me so I started searching and I ended up with the perfect bike for me the Yamaha Virago XV 250. Impulsive as I am I made an arrangement to go get a bike.

I was very excited because I immediate wanted to start. But I forgot one thing: I have absolutely no clue how to start and how difficult this project would be. Anyway with a big amount of enthusiasm you are far more ahead than people with tons of experience but no love for the project or not the passion for it. In fact working on motorcycles you can learn, passion not.

I hated the feedback from people: you will not be able to do that, it is impossible, you can't do that, you don't have the experience, blablabla,..  I started this project and will finish this!

I already want to thank the following people:
My grandparents for the space ( garage ), my parents for the support, Joachim Geerard and William for the overall help, Motortechnica for the advice and parts ( http://motortechnica.be/ ), the old garage for the welding ( https://www.facebook.com/theoldgaragecustoms/?fref=ts ), Jos Willems for the help with the fork ( http://www.willemsjos.be/nl/contact ) and myself for the opportunity I gave myself by doing weekend jobs and believing in myself.
